Railfanning In Butler PA

Did some railfanning today. This is along the CN road, formerly Bessemer and Lake Erie.
First is a transloading facility

from the other end

and the old freight depot

Over the years to get better pics of the transloading, I tried to get inside the fence, but Security always threw me out. I even tried to bs my way in and was told to stay off the property

I hate it when that happens.

I hate it when that happens.

The facility used to be operated by CSX and I believe the main reason for increased security was they transferred ammonia nitrate. After 911 any facility that had AN was considered high risk. CSX sold the place and in recent years transfers are at bare minimum. So I may try again to get some better pics.

They were actually nice to you. Back in April 2003 i was arrested by Amtrak police for photography by the North Bergen tunnels.

They were and I never tried again.
