I don't believe Tony's is "owned" by QSI .... they may be a registered service depot, but not owned.

IF QSI owned Tony's, I hardly think they would sell and service all the other brands of decoders and accessories as well.

Morning Fellows. If I may share my experience in swapping out a QSI decoder for a Tsunami, the locomotive that I did this to was a L&N MP-15 Gold Series loco. Basically, what I did is followed the instructions on the inside package flap ,and in no time the decoder was installed, and works just fine. I used a TSU-AT 1000 Digital Sound Decoder, and I have another one that will be going into A Western Railway of Alabama GP-40-2. I tell you what I'll try to post some photos of my install for reference. William.

anyone think that they will fit a dash 8-40b?

Depends. If the decoder that you are trying to put in will fit in the space provided, and can be programmed for a GE locomotive. If I might offer a suggestion, the Tsunami TSU-AT 1000 decoder for GE diesels TSU-AT1000 GE FDL-16 Modern, might be a better choice. If you want hear what the decder sounds like, here is the link, www.Soundtraxx.com. Go to the sound samples section, and click on the one that says GE FDL-16 Modern. William.

When you go to Soundtraxx's website,go to the products link and click on the one that says AT-1000. William.

I would think that the QSI decoders I have will fit into a 40B...the total length of the decoder is 2 7/8" long x 11/16" at the widest point.

The QSI boards are all pretty much the same, except for the MP15. The wiring in the engine itself is slightly different on a non-sound engine.
I've taken a QSI board out of a BLI AC6000CW and put it in Atlas B23-7 with no problem.
