Motley-
Could you use a magnetic wand used to turn on and off the Easy-peasy lights for 72' passenger cars? I bought two, and one wand will work for both! BTW, where does Mile-HI-Railroad's right-of-way run?

No I actually already have a bunch of those already. But thanks for the offer. Those Rapido cars are very nice, I have like 12 of them.

The Mile-HI-Railroad right of way runs on the D&RGW/UP Denver to Minturn. And Cheyenne. Also tracks rights for Sante Fe/BNSF.

I think maybe the Loksound does indeed have DC mode, but it causes problems. So you need to disable DC mode, and run it on your DCC system.

If it still doesn't work, you will need to reset the decoder back to factory defaults.

See what happens when you don't buy top of the line MTH steamers!!! You get the same thing! A cheaper over priced paper weight! LOL JK!!! Message me if I can help.

Having just plonked it onto a piece of flex and hooked up a power pack brings to mind connection/track dirtiness problems. I know when I took my 2 MTH SD70Ace's(don't cringe, they're the only ones to have done them in MRL) down to my old club with the DC layout to try them, I had to slide the wheels along the track back and forth before they responded. Crud on the track and wheels maybe (oxidation?)

I was reading through the NCE power-pro manual earlier and I noticed that it mentioned that a loco fitted with DCC should run without problems on DC, but if they don't they won't run well on DCC either. Which doesn't thrill me 'cause those MTH's would only move quite slowly on the DC layout even at full throttle. It didn't seem to make any difference whether I ran just 1 or both together. I'm hoping it's because of being 12V. Gotta get my test track sorted.

Something else to consider, Tsunami strongly advise against using an older slider or rheostat (copper wire wound voltage control) controller as it will damage the decoder as the current flow isn't smooth or constant enough.

You know, you can just send that malfunctioning Big Boy to me, and I'll make sure it occupies a position of honor next to my Trix Big Boy.
:)

When are you building your layout? You really need one so you don't have to rely on going down to your club layout.

mike,
i am working 7 days a week so i cant even get to the club ... but april i will have enough roon to build a layout.
