I've bought the latest version of Digitrax DCC power and throttles. I only bought the one main throttle; but I do have extra places in my layout now where the new DT602 might be hard to get at. I had the Ut4 with my older Digitrax and I rarely used it. But things have changed, I will now be utilizing all 22-feet in length. It's just me running the show and I don't know if it is worth the extra almost 100 bucks.
Do the people out here, use just one throttle for themselves or do the use two for a comparable size layout?
For me, has nothing to do with the size of the railroad, all throttles are walk-around. More to do with how I want to control locos, I prefer just one loco per throttle, but all throttles are wireless. I don't carry more than one at a time, just lay the others down or in a fascia holder.
I usually run three trains on a single throttle. Sometimes four when I feel like paying attention.
I have a wireless NCE system but I do have UTP panels around the layout I can plug a second throttle in which I do have. Don't think I have
ever used it for running trains. Its more to do basic programming on an isolated siding/programming track. since the wireless don't support programming as far as I know. I use it more on the workbench since its a full powercab system, but when plugged into the command station it just becomes a throttle.

The UT4 should work with your new system, if you still have it. I have a UT6 for my system, along with the UP5, and found I rarely used it.
I use the Digitrax DT602D (wireless) and run two trains at once most of the time. I don't control my switches in the DT unit yet but find running two trains at one time keeps me on my toes as it is.
I run the NCE power cab with wireless throttles using the cell phone or a TCS UWT100, the UWT50P or a UWT50. I usually run 2 trains at once when by myself. One of its best features is the flashlight that you turn on as you want it! Great for coupling or the occasion derailment
I run the layout from a Samsung 9.2" tablet. No cables to plug in, just hold it and walk around if you want...
I'm the same as Mike, NCE wireless w/UTP panels, but I only have one throttle. I used the panels until I got the antennas installed for wireless. The program track is wired to the command station. I haven't made the leap yet to running two trains at one time......

I purchased a second DT400 throttle from Digitrax when I purchased the system, the old klunk...Super Empire Builder. Still works like a charm BTW, now 21 years in. I wanted a spare throttle rather than to have to purchase and wait for delivery if one went on the Fritz.
I just use the basic NCE Power Cab on my layout, but it's sufficient since I can only run 2 trains max anyway.
I have a few places that are islands and I don't want to drag the coiled wire over the layout...BUT I do have a UT4 and a UP5 panel at this location from my Super Empire Builder set; but I do not know if this is comparable to my new DB210 Digitrax system. I would save 100 bucks by being able to use this; but I don't know if it would work...with all the branding irons in the fire; I have not hooked up this new system yet. I did not use my UT4 much before; but if I can use it with the new updated version it would be nice for this one spot only
