plastic tabs to hold trucks to frames

Ok so I found a set of trucks in my parts bin that fit the railpower products SD90Mac frame. I thought the plastic clips athearn uses to hold the trucks to the frame would fit................wrong! The piece that sits on the frame after its clipped down sits to low. So its basically beeing bent upwards and popping itself off the truck tower.

Does anyone know if there are two different clips out there?

Steve, I looked at the parts that Model railcraft Supply Depot shows on their web page under Athearn Parts & they look the same for all engines. They show a clip w/a driveline set for a SD70/75. The part # is G63834 on page 30. You might call them & see what they have. (732)-842-8644

If you can't find the right size clips you might be able to machine that crossmember down for the Athearn Clips. It looks like it might lift out w/a little mechanic work.

I can not remember but i think that i already had the same problem and i think that effectivly it have 2 or more type of clip.

im going to have to take apart a RTR engine to see what the clips look like.

I used athearn bluebox trucks from an sd40-2 and uesed the clips that hold it and the worm gear in place no problem.

yea i was able to figure out hte problem. It was the side frames not letting the trucks sit properly.
