It looks like the former NYC terminal in Buffalo, NY.

Although the buildings in these photos look like they could be in just about any North American City, the black late 50's Australian built Chrysler Royal driving on the left side in the first picture, and the Australian built Holdens and right hand drive 63 Impala in the second picture indicate these pictures were taken somewhere in Australia, or New Zealand, and probably in the mid 60's. My guess is Australia.

The first photo shows the direction of traffic and the parked cars are on the opposite side of the street then the US. So I would say your correct as well.
