Hello everyone, I am really new at the railroad modeling thing. For the last 30 years I have been building and flying radio control model airplanes. That hobby has changed so much that I lost interest in it. So, I have always been interested in miniatures and the railroad hobby I find fascinating.
Welcome aboard. Model railroading is basically a lot of different hobbies intertwined into one. Carpentry, electrical, mechanical and artistic ones. Good way to keep up your interests. Be sure to ask questions and keep us posted with pictures.
I too was huge into R/C airplanes and helicopters before coming back to this hobby. In fact the Sig Fourstar 40 was my second build and my training plane from high to low wing tail dragger aircraft. I left the hobby due to the core group of our club leaving slowly for different reasons and found it no fun to go to the field alone.
