Chugga Chugga CHOO CHOO!!
Hey, I just got interested in model trains and decided to create my own layout. I already have a train, some track, and am in the process of building a table. My question is: What's a good place to start on a layout?

OK. First, What kind of trains will you be running, and what is the rollingstock length? This has an affect on how sharp you can make your turns and turnouts. How much track do you have and what is your budget? Before you build a table, make sure it is big enough to handle a curve large enough to handle the longer cars on your train. These are just some questions you might want to ak yourself.

Welcome to the hobby. I am starting my layout too. Have fun!:)

Welcome to the hobby. I recomend any of the beginner books. One can be found at just about any hobby shop. You will just grow and learn from there and start doing your own research. Ive been around the hobby most of my life and it is still and fun and new stuff to learn and try all the time.
