Lasm,

Great job on that engine! Seems as though you are going from leaps to bounds and it all looks first class mate.

Thanks, Tony; over time I may be doing some more painting as my confidence grows. The headlight lens makes a difference in and of itself; I considered putting a real light in there but there wasn't much room.

New Video of my layout showing overhead utility lines, rock face, Mantua O-6-0 ( pretty sure it is an antique).

Filmed with my NEW CANNON ELPH 320 in HD1080P. Check the setting in the bottom right of your screen. Edited with the Windows video editor.

(Your provider may have a tough time keeping up and you may need to select a lower number)

THANKS for Watching!!

Great video LASM, just like watching TV.

It looks like you got an even better bargain then I had first thought, well done!

THANKS Louis; I am really liking the new camera, and that old Mantua featured isn't as slick as the newer stuff but I enjoy the challenge of making these things work.

You have me inspired to try a video!

New, used rebuilt, who cares. It looks and runs great and you had fun, you can't beat that! Besides that I am sure you feel a sense of pride when you run it.

Your layout is really amazing.

New Guy, Louis--Thanks guys!! Believe it or not, credit Montanan (Chet) for getting me into videos!!

I watched his on youtube and when clicked to comment I ended up making an account. The rest is history!!

THANKS Rico! I am getting ready for a switching video around the industrial area. I will be using the 8 wheel drive locos which are much easier to control at slow speeds. Should have that done by the end of the week.

David,

Great video mate and doesn't it look better than photo's? Brings "us" into your train room - and that is a plus indeed! Looking forward to watching more of your video's.

David veeery nice video. I really enjoyed it and many compliments for the nice transitions between the scenes! Thank you for posting.

Tony, Yannis--thanks for complimenting. I am getting to know my way around the editing software better and better and that is making things easier.

What kind of editing software are you using David? I imagine that here is some kind of editing software for my Canon camcorder, but I just haven't had time to check it out.

It is called Movie Maker and it is free with Windows 7. It is pretty much self explanatory but takes some messing around with to reach a comfort zone.

I have to keep the camera rolling continuosly for each video and am not sure if I can put two separate shoots into one video, if so, can't figure it out.

I cut out the areas where I move the camera to a new angle and if my hand gets in the shoot; and all the transitions, captions, and titles etc are pretty easy to add.

You can add music with it but I usually have a hard time figuring out what music is appropriate with the scenes so don't bother.

After I shoot one session I take out the memory card out and put it in a card reader and plug it into a USB port on my computer, then download that file to my Pictures or Videos folder. Then I open up the Movie Maker program and copy and paste the video file into the space on Movie Maker. Then it takes the computer a few minutes to transfer the file. Then I can clip out the unwanted footage, and add the text and transitions; then save that edited file somewhere, usually back in the pictures folder. Then I open up my Youtube and select upload file and upload the edited file. It usually takes anywhere from 25 minutes to several hours to upload the edited video. HOPE THIS HELPS. Dave

Steve, if I was any closer I would take you up on that. If nothing else, I would like to run N scale for a change.

Hawkes, you must be getting close to starting. I am anxious to see what kind of creation you will be building!
