Most likely one of the axles is missing an insulator. Normally, one wheel is steel pressed on a steel axle. The other wheel is steel but has an insulator between the wheel and axle. Either this one is damaged, allowing a completed circuit, or it is just plain missing. You may have to buy a replacement wheel set to remedy the situation.

Give MTStuff a call. I'm sure they'll send/get you another wheelset free of charge. The did something similar for me, and I'm in Australia.

I got one of those from FVM..........no insulator on either wheel, so it was a dead short. I didn't find it till it heated up enough to melt the entire truck. FVM sent me 2 new ones.
