I want to make my own plate girder bridge in n scale, can someone suggest a good place for buying the girder side plates? or is making them out of styrene a better way to go. My first guess was to cut up an atlas for the sides?
URI;
My first choice would have been to use separate girders, like the ones Atlas has available for HO that are sold as flatcar loads. Unfortunately, Atlas doesn't offer them in N scale.
Micro Engineering does offer them. Here is a link to their bridges page,

At the bottom of the page is their bridge parts list, and they offer girders separately in both 40' and 80' lengths.
