Can anyone help me find newer models of American automobiles, tractor/trailers, pick-up trucks, etc in N Scale?
All I've been able to find are older models and foreign vehicles. Would appreciate any information.
Thanks,
patriothonor, Jack

I know what you are up against. I model in HO scale and have quite a collection of cars and trucks for the transition era and even in HO scale modern US car are in scarce supply, but modern trucks are. I have notice very few modern US vehicles in N scale. Hope someone can help you.

Simple cara aren't too hard to make yourself with bass wood. And if you can find 1 car, you can mold it and make 50 and just paint them different colors.

The scale is so tiny they look really good even of they aren't super perfect.

Here is one, for example

You can find them on eBay of varying quality. Kinda tough to search for, but if you just start scrolling through N-scale stuff in general you'll eventually run across one of the guys who makes & sells them.

Thank you, Mike. I did that last night and found Savon, and TrainLover on Ebay. Bought several vehicles, looked good in their photos, but not sure about the quality. Will see when I receive them. A good selection, but mostly trucks and utility vehicles. Hopefully I'll find some automobiles as well.
Thanks for your response.

I suspect you will find that they look better in real life than in the ebay photos.

N scale doesn't do well with big pictures. They expose every imperfection on the model.

9 times out of 10 you don't see those imperfections when you are holding the item in your hand as its a lot smaller than the photo.

When i was younger, ok eons ago, iplayed with matchbook cars. I lived in a housetrailee,
And made model house trailers by cutting 3/4 in square wood stock to length & shape
( front & rear)

One of these days i am going to try reskn molding,,,,, maybe?

BTW, I don't know if this will work for you, but I did find some bulk packages of modern autos. The caveat is that they're all basically the same, just different colors. I think I got a package of 100 and a package of 50. For me that works wonderfully since I have a loading yard for auto racks on my layout, and obviously a whole bunch of the same type car would be just exactly what I need. If you're interested in something like that I'll look through my order history on eBay and figure out where I got them. I figure from what you've said that you're looking for more "on the street" type of selection so I won't go to the effort unless they're something you actually need, because I did order them 2-3 years ago and it will take a little effort to see if I can locate them.

Yes, thank you. I would appreciate any information you can provide me. Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, I could only find one of my purchases. Apparently the other was too old to still be in my history. I'd have to go out and look to be certain, but I think they actually have a little more variety in them than they used to. In any case, this seller has a couple different packages, one of which is lighted. Note that the 100-count is actually just two 50-count packages, but it is cheaper to buy 100 than two 50's separately. They ship from China and take a little longer to arrive (but still within 2 weeks if I recall correctly), but are actually pretty good quality. Like another poster said, you're not going to find anything affordable in N-scale that has super detail to it, but they're so small that little details would be lost on any observer anyway.

Hope this helps:
