Hi Everyone,
Well, after some tricky situations and lots of learning experiences, I completed my wooden train platforms, which I call a "modular" design, because it consists of sections of independent plywood platforms, encircling our couch where we watch TV in the basement.
The first few photos are of the hardware I used to assemble the "legs" to the platforms. All the platforms are either 4ft, 3ft, or 2ft. long, and 12" wide, with 3-inch legs on either side. So the height above the floor is just 3", but this is enough to ward-off dust. I used #8 - 1" machine screws and nuts. However, during assembly and after I had purchased all the hardware already, I realized that I may have used the slightly thicker #10 screws instead, to better fit the holes of the L-brackets (sold here as "corner braces"). But it worked anyways, since the weight they carry is quite minimal.
There are two systems running here: Bachmann DC 2-rail (grey tracks), and Marklin AC 3-rail (black tracks). The DCC controller is the ESU Command Station 50210 (previous generation).

The French SNCF green electric loco (left) (2D2 9128) is actually one which is extremely similar to my childhood locomotive, which I had in Istanbul. It was memorable for me, and just had to get it. I almost never got it, because good ol' Roco, basically used up their stock, did not even advise my reseller, and it was a discontinued product. I switched to the 2-rail DC version which was available.
