What I did was suck it up and do a Powerwash / System reset on my Chromebook !! It worked !! What it didn't do though is stop the intrusion in my YouTube news shows of an inset in corner of a person silently talking to someone/audience having nothing to do with the dialog on the show...It's still there...But it must be removable if many/most of you reading this don't relate to this oddity !! But if, IF you did have it and found how to delete it, please, PLEASE reply with steps to take...
I did however lose 5-6 Chrome documents as I didn't back them up...One was the NCE 65.1 manual which I've already restored.. Others were music scores..But I can eventually re-load them some day....
Anyway, the customize box is back working..Here's an example:
