This only shows HALF of the lightning setup, you can see the “background” flashes from the other side.
We wanted a more realistic lightning visual than as supplied by Broadway Limited (BLI). It’s pretty cheesy. I asked AI (Google Gemini) if I could just attach longer LEDs. It’s answer was “no”. BLI says it can be done, but just a shortish length of LEDs similar to what they supplied. I wanted something “better”. Basically, I use an Arduino Nano (my first shot at using an Arduino), COB addressable LEDs and a bit of time and frustration. OK, a LOT of time and frustration. If anyone is interested in the details, I have it on a google doc I can share.
P.S. I’ve only been back in the hobby for about a year, after being gone for 25 years.
