Hello, I purchased a model power no. 5000 electronic railroad sound unit & I can't figure out how to make it work. I just received it & I pulled out the white tab on the back & batteries are in it & it doesn't do anything. Does it need to be connected to the track? If so, how? Does anybody have any experience with these? Thanks!

can you take a picture of it front, back & top view. Did you get any instructions w/it.
Most DC sound systems hook to the track & the unit hooks to 1 or 2 speakers. The 5000 sounds like one of the older units.

Hi, it did not come with any instructions, it came with 3 pen batteries already installed. It said to pull out the white tab to operate & it's ready to go. That's it. I can't see anywhere where there is a place to connect a wire to it? I have no idea. I'm new to the forum & can't figure out for the life of me how to post a photo!

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's very old. The original batteries may be dead. Try installing fresh batteries, and try again.
