Do you have the old bulb? So we can see what style of base and the voltage markings that might be on it? You might be able to cross it to a Lionel bulb with any luck.

it says 12v. japan I think it's a frosted bulb but it may look that way because of the globe base paint I'll take a magnifying glass to it this week for a good look.

Right. But we still need to know the type of base the bulb has. Screw (mogul) type or maybe "bayonet". Radio shack might be a place to try too. they have hobby size 12volt bulbs. Often times the "frosted" bulbs were just dipped in white paint back then.

True, we don't know what the base is. I'm merely suggesting an alternative-my brother has a couple of these lights on his Lionel O layout and he gets his replacements at an auto supply store. I've purchased replacement lights for my Lionel GP-7 at gas stations in the past.

It is an E 10 base, 12v., so I can get a bulb that will work. Clear globe shaped are 50 cents to $2.50. Angling the reflector slightly will keep it from being seen so that's the plan for today. If I can find the floodlight that matches the other without spending anywhere near the $18 + $5.50 shipping I have seen so far I'll be pleased. I will get better picture today too.

14V Clear Large Globe Dimple Bulb, for revolving beacon tower
14V Clear Button Shape Bulb, for early engines and accessories

these may be what I am looking for
