Was under $20🇨🇦 at Otter Valley…

It looks so much better than the Woodland Scenics Grass Tufts and has the look I want..
And it is so much cheaper…1 pack of Martin Welberg Weeds will do the entire layout…vs the 4 packs of WS grass tufts I used
I am likely going to remove most/all of Woodland Scenics tufts

Good to know, thanks, I'm going to be at that point fairly soon where I need vegetation.

It looks like Scenic Express here in the States is a dealer.
 


i know hes products also really good.
i dont have them, but i know a person who knows him haha.
but i saw his products, and the great thing is. and dont get me wrong, but all martin does is connecting different products to one.
but he does it in perfection.

so if you have time and patients to learn you can do it by yourself.
at least bushes and stuff, is really easy to make (i did a video on that). but he has the machines to do it big, and hes matts and stuff are really looking great.

the prize for hes products in switzerland are a bit high, so thats why iam doing it by myself. and Marcel Ackle (the guy) is a great teacher in how to do stuff. But martin also looks like a really cool guy. had some interactions with him on socials.

so tldr:
great products yes, but you could also do it by yourself :)
 
Outside the USA made products unless already in stock maybe hard for the US modeler to buy right now. I think the world of Martin Welberg products. But what Marco says is very true, we can make scenery products ourselves.

Boomer Diorama on YouTube shows how he makes tufts and bushes. His trees though for the Pacific Northwest while gorgeous and a true work of art are over kill IMOO

Luke Cowan’s many videos on tree making are very straight forward with no fluff and easy. His tuffs on a cookie sheet are how I started making my own

They both have videos on static grass

I’m not a big fan of Woodland Scenics products but they are made in the US so don’t carry the debilitating tariff charges. They are a great start for tuffs, bushes, some grasses and leaf material. Using an airbrush to tune up the colors always help to make them more realistic. YMMV,

i mean you can buy woodland scenics stuff, and combine it and make great products out of it :P

But yes as you are saying, there are many great youtubers showing how to create awesome stuff by yourself. dont get me wrong. Martin Welberg is doing awesome stuff in bigger scales than we can do at home, but we can achive the same stuff, because in the end hes using the same materials like we all do or can buy :)
