Just got some small bits and pieces, these magnets are ideal for kit or scratch building, even in N scale. Just to give a sense of scale the card is standard business card size.

And some decals I need for the tanker truck I bought for the storage depot.

Think this needs some work before I can add the decals.

I saw this earlier today, I don't really need it, but couldn't resist buying this fallen flag.

I like the beat up truck second from the bottom. Hope you work on that presently so I can see your magic on it.

Also, the small magnets are interesting, so far I have gotten by without magnets, would have to change my mind set a little...

I like them, the magnets I got are really handy, line the parts up, apply glue, leave and go do something else, less likely to glue your fingers together too, :D the mini magnets are ideal for N scale.

The truck I'll see if I can get it apart, I know the tank and pipes will come apart, just need the chassis and axles to do the same then I think a clean up and see what I have, Tom mentioned rust bucket, it's certainly a candidate now I have it

Just out of the box.

They both roll exceptionally well. Per my scale the Atlas is 1oz heavier. The Atlas car is a bit taller than the Walthers car but I don’t know which one is correct. I dislike the couplers on both cars and they will be changed to Kadee whiskers. The ladders on the Atlas cars are exceptional, very thin and look great. The Walthers car ladders are moulded on and a touch thick. It is one of the reasons you’ll see darker kick up spray by the ladders when I weather them. The dark shading hides the thickness. Atlas has an additionAl coupler trip pin that Walthers does not include. Wheels are a wash. Walthers uses the Proto metal wheels but a plastic axle. Atlas uses a metal axle. The other details are a wash, with both cars well executed.

I like both cars. The difference between pricing is big. I paid for the last 3 batches of Walthers yellow TBOX cars $24 to 29 each plus shipping and are getting more difficult to find in different numbers. The Atlas cars were $45 plus shipping and are hard to find. Is the $16 difference worth better ladders and a trip lever that most likely will break off during handling?

If I sell them after weathering the Walthers hopefully will continue to go out the door as quick as I can do them. The Atlas at $16 already priced higher will be a tougher sell to my clientele. I will weather lightly the Atlas, add tags and custom graffiti and will put one up for sale just to see what happens.
Thanks for all the information.

How do you like those Atlas? They look great from here. Course I know your gonna just mess em up and make them look like they've been on the railroad for a few years.
If your interested in them, it looks like Kliens has some still in stock.

Thanks Mike, I forget about ModeltrainsandStuff. I used to use them but they started having inventory issues years ago and I stopped. That price is $6 higher then what I paid, but if you need to have one they definitely have a good inventory on these.

3 weeks ago I could have purchased forr$39.99. Last week I paid $45. Thankfully 4 should be plenty

And this is what I got

They both came with unpowered B units.

Some day I will get an engine like that! Beautiful engine for sure!
I think you'd enjoy running this around, got some weight too, so will pull a few cars, goes like a rocket, acceleration is amazing straight out the box, I nearly derailed it twice. Sounds are really good, but I need to change the volume for the bell, bit too quiet.:D Runs nicely on my little layout, no stutters or wheel squeal on my curves, which some 6 leggers do on my track. All in all a very nice locomotive, glad I bought it, still want that Bowser tho':)

That’s really nice! I’m a little jealous!
Thank you, well worth it in my opinion.

So a about 2 months ago I got this locomotive dirt cheap...

Athearn RTR ATH65115 EMD SD45 Union Pacific UP 2668 DCC & Sound new in the box sealed.

After a little research and cross checking. It is a SD45 body but it was deemed a SD40M-2. originally Southern Pacific......the serial number has a long long history....CRAZY!!!!

Other locos with this serial: UP 2668(SD40M-2) SP 8592(SD40M-2) HESR 2668(SD40M-2) HESR 3485(SD40M-2) ACL 1025(SD45) SCL 2001(SD45) SBD 8901(SD45)

I am happy to have this loco for sure!
