I found these on a BIN/make offer. I felt kind of bad, I lowballed the guy a bit (Took less than 15 min for him to accept) I think these will be perfect weathering practice candidates. Should be here next week.
You will love us in a few weeks. No problem though you are welcome.
As CambriaArea51 (Tom) says take pictures and lots of them. You will be shocked as the process flows and you look at the pictures. The camera will see the piece, imperfections and all. Your eye doesn’t always see them.
Post them here as YOU feel like it. The idea behind my start up of my CONTINOUS weathering thread was a place to put pieces out there and ask for CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM and that will happen. But even with the slow process, the frustrations you may experience keep in mind it is a process
This was my first order with Midwest Model. I must say I'm impressed with them. After several push backs on production Athearn finally delivered these. Was excited to finally add some 53' container chassis.
I placed an order for a couple ClassOne intermodal 48' well cars just a couple days ago.
They arrived today.
In the packaging, they have a container in each car, but when ya get the plastic casing off the car, the containers are card stock promotions for their intermodal containers.
These are metal cars that sit low around the trucks. Detail, both body and markings is very good.
The couplers don't have the typical Kadee lever on the bottom side. Plastic trucks and metal wheels.
The box for each car is a bit overdone. A flip down piece with an engineer drawing of the car and magnets inside the box to hold the cover down when folded up.
My wall materials came for my new engine house, also a few details for making hand railing, the lumber pile which I am not sure about as far as how it is going to look assembled, and the scale chain for some log loads:
I have a similar product I have been using for foundations but they are not "cut" stones so have a more natural face showing.
Some doo dads, can never have enough of these:
The brass wire is for making handrails for the combine car I have been working on upgrading a little. I started assembling the lumber stacks and they don't look too bad, esp. they will be a couple feet away from where anyone is looking:
Forgot to post this when I got it. I'm going to put my bachmann decoder in it after I put sound in the bachmann 060. I don't know what it is but I like it.
I've been experiencing some hobby withdrawal over the past couple weeks, so I went all the way across town today to see a club show and flea market that I normally don't go to since it's a bit of a drive. Naturally I had to get something with a trip like that, right?
I first grabbed the MILW wood chip hopper to add to my forest products fleet, for $11. Then I came across the Intermountain SPFE mechanical reefers. I thought those were a pretty good deal, but I managed to get an even better combo deal with the two autoracks added.
I haven't tried it out yet but I see immediately why everyone prefers the Spectrum line from Bachmann. I'll never buy anything else from them. It's got some heft compared to my plastic one. I'm sure it will be a good puller.
I also got these in last Saturday....needed some trucks.
I ordered 6 new trucks that are on the way too. I got 2 Cargill tank trucks and 1 grain hopper truck (wished they had more as I would like to get 3 more) and I got 3 tractors Peterbilts.
