Little station in french Alps layout

Hi,
I'm a french railroad modeller.
After a short introduction, I open this thread to share more details on my layout, discuss my project and to show my progress

To summarize, I'm making a little train station layout from french Alps (HO scale). The track plan is simple but typical for such little stations in France.

The dimensions are 2,2 x 0,4 meters (~90x16 inch). In the future, I will loop the tracks in backstage.

Fun fact, as I don't have enough space for my layout in my appartment, I store my 2 modules under my 2 sofas. In consequence, all the buildings, trees and relief should be dismantled...

(13 cm high only!!!)

From the beginning, I have tried to make the layout by myself: this is the best way to discover and learn technics... (ground, vegetations, trees, little buildings, walls, weathering...).
The tracks are from Peco (code 75), the command is made by a z21 ROCO (the white one).

My current works are:
1/ Finishing the trees for my layout
2/ Painting a backdrop
3/ Review the cabling to prepare the layout for computer control (Rocrail and Traincontroller on study)

I'm conviced you guys have a lot to share and to teach to me!

Great work! That locomotive in your last photo is my favorite French locomotive. I've been meaning to buy one, but I can hardly keep up with DB and ÖBB.

Michael, the BB67400 is my favorite too. What an engine sound in real life! Unfortunately, they become more and more rare to see... the "old ladies" retired...

Jacob, the weel in is home made with air-hardening modelling clay. Sorry for my bad understanding but what do you mean by "point throws"?

Oh, sorry. I meant the levers (and the linkages) controlling the points/turnouts. That's what I called them growing up in England, I have no idea if it is the right term! Anyway, they look incredibly prototypical. The ties/sleepers are really good too.

OK Jacob!

The levers come from a french craftman; the platform and linkages are home made respectively with brass and Evergreen pieces.

For the sleepers, I used a commun method: brown paint then buff/grey/white drybrush

New update... after making some trees and painting the backdrop (right side)...

I will make a hole in the bakdrop for backstage access.
Do you have tips to hide this hole?
