The NCE Power Cab is very easy to set up & use. Just read all the instructions which are also very easy to read! But if your track work isn't the best highly recommend you do your first setups on a separate piece of track. Helped a guy do that yesterday & we found all kinds of bad track work mostly w/ bad DC track wiring!
Guys, do you recommend gluing the grass mat to the foam? This will be a temp layout for a few months to see if I want to make changes. Then I'll remove the grass and start the real detail.
I have started a new thread under the layout section as "Woody & Son Railroad (WSR)
I put the grass mat down without gluing it down. I did this because I wanted to have the look while I run for a while to decide if changes need to be made to the layout. Hopefully the grass mat can be easily removed when the time comes to do the detailed landscape. I've laid all the track and will wire the Dcc system and bus tomorrow and test.
Update.. Progress made the past 2 days ... Laid grass mat, laid track and secured with track nails, wired for DCC, Setup NCE Powercab, son decorated and ran some trains. Just wanted to thank everyone for their help and Thanks to Iron Horse for taking the time to help design my layout. My son loves it!!! The big smiles on his face over this past week of new trains and him running the trains has been priceless. Thanks to all!!
