kz9's HO Scale Empire.....

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

OK, Kellan, I didn't click on the idea that you were linking to a helix and upper level. In addition to removing the two crossovers you identifed, I would move the brown crossover further up the track. Again, you don't have a long enough tail track in the stub end yard to make it very useful in its present location.

Ya I don't plan on running anything longer then a Genset, really I have 2 SW1500's lined up for this. My CSX and I have a undec that I will be doing in steel plants scheme.

But I will be making that track long enough so I can even bring up one hopper with a switcher.

Helpful Hints paperback

When I got into the hobby I picked up an old paper back 'how to' magazine that was titled "Tips" I believe. Can't find that copy now, but it offered a lot of interesting tips from years of old time modelers......
Just found the proper name for that paperback, "764 Helpful Hints for model railroaders", culled from the Kinks columns of Model Railroader magazine.

Here's the cover (attached), and in fact there is a copy on Ebay at the moment.

Updated layout....

Well one of the CP's is on the bench getting a full details west makeover, so I doubt they ever will....lol

I found a C&NW AC4400 (NIB) awhile back & it's coming to South Africa the week after next with a friend...can't wait...

Well I got the benchwork and some foam and trackwork down in the new area. I did a clean up of my entire basement and moved the work bench around.

Sold a bunch of stuff I wasn't going to use and bought a bunch of stuff. lol (its all Josh's fault):p

Added a DCC test/program track with a Zepther I had laying around to my work bench.

Tried to do some of the small LED's that Mark helped me get, but ended up get pissed off at those TINY ass things and moved on to something else....lol

Finally finalized the deal with the wife on the 30'' shelf expansion I will be putting around the future livingroom.:D

Got my hands on the last piece I need for my cement/concrete industry. BNIB Walthers Valley Cement. So now I have to rework some of my existing trackwork to suit once I assembled.

Still looking for a Rotory Dumper....

Have a BUNCH of Enigne projects on my bench.....

Other than that not too much....I still have a autoshop that keeps me very busy and my day job as a plumber is 7 days a week now....:(

Next on the list to buy is a new camera. Latley the pictures have been turning out very grainy, so sorry for the poor quality.
