Looking to change the couplers on a 7 year old's Playart steam engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Show us a good clear pic of the BOTTOM of the engine.

Are the NMRA couplers that are on it now removable?

The coupler pocket is 5/16" square. Small pin. Cast into frame. Not deep enough for #5. Too wide for plastic whiskers. Not wide enough for bottom coupler.
