I stumbled upon this a couple of days ago, I don't ever remember hearing or seeing this.....
I was installing the 2x4's on the boom leg.....

using a plastic lid to hold the glue, there was a couple pieces of sponge on the lid, and then it dawned on me to put a bit of glue on the square edge of the sponge to dip the 2x4 in. There is a whole lot more control using the sponge than dipping it in the big blob of glue......

Continuing with the glue theme..........
This would be a, what not to do.
Way back in 2016-17, starting Layout 1, gathering supplies, I had bought a bunch of Detail Wests white metal, switch stand kits. There was a super glue recommended to assemble them, so I bought a bottle, thinking that I'm set to go for later, when it's time to put them together for the layout. I ran into trouble, (not realizing,) that time is cruel to glue. After 8-9 years, it does not keep! Hard as a rock!
