Building on the #6 turnout question... I plan to use four #6 turnouts to build a double crossover. What degree cross track do I need? If memory serves, I think it's a 19*... Correct?

Thanks,
Doug

19* is correct, the total length will be 26" and the centerline of the tracks will be 3" apart. It takes up a bit of real estate

Wow, Willis, I guess that's why I don't have a double crossover on my layout. Sure would be nice but that would be about 10% of my straight mainline track. Yours sure looks good though.

Thanks Jim, I have another room about 10' x 12' I'm thinking about adding to the layout space. Problem is I'm not too sure if I should tear down and start over or just continue with what I have now and join a new section onto it.

Cheers Willis

I tried a double crossover with snap switches, but the alignment is not quite right...

I assume, for atlas #6 turnouts, I can use that atlas remote switch machines. Correct?

Thanks,
Doug

The snap switches are something like 4.5 or so. No, they won't work. Use the #4 custom from atlas or the 6. I *think* the 4 takes a 25* crossing, but double check.
