If you had to choose between steel and brass track which would it be and why? (nickel siver isn't an option.) The reason I ask is beacause I just picked a bunch of track at a flea market. Don't worry it was cheap

I'd go with the steel track for maintenance reasons. I've used brass track for dioramas though and wouldn't refuse it if that's all I had available or could afford.

I would go w/Brass track. I have some on my layout now. About 3ft. & some #6 Atlas Switches.:)

For me, I think I would pick brass too. I also recently came into a small lot of track for a great price: $0.00 !!!! So I know what its like to get track for a great price that you can't refuse. And if it comes down to it, use it to build a diorama or display case. That way, no electrical problems :)
