well its not a "real' passenger set that BN ran so its most likely a regular set that was done in BN PAINT

Originally, those cars came as a 4 car set in a red Rivarossi box. While I've seen locomotives painted that way, I don't remember seeing any passenger cars wearing that paint scheme. The locomotives were EMD E units, primarily used in Chicago commuter service.
It's a sleeping car. The staggered windows on the one side are because there are upper and lower berths in that section. The opposite side is the hallway, so has regular windows along the whole length.
I couldn't say if this particular car is accurate for BN (probably not, specific arrangments of passenger stock tended to vary quite a bit from road to road) or what road's car the model was based off of.
Yep' its a sleeping car. I have several in GN. Colors
AHM used to call this a 'Duplex Sleeper.' Sort of like a Slumbercoach. AHM/Rivirossi/IHC did each car up in the paint schemes they were doing, regardless of whether or not the prototype road owned them or not. Hence a Lackawanna Vista Dome. The observation car of your BN set was probably a 'square back,' as opposed to the round end obs that GN/BN prefered.
Hope this helps.
