With the arrival of my latest GP35 hot rod for Jeff Tyrrell i now have a total of 10 painted/lettered for my home road or friends leasing company.

little rundown on each one:

The GLNE painted units

#500-Ex EL/GLNE rebuilt by alstom/southern tier shops in Hornell NY. the unit was wrecked and received a new wide nose along with being re rated to 2000hp, the unit also lost the center cooling fan. She is a favorite leader on Gang Mills NY to Binghampton NY transfer trains.

#516-Ex EL/GLNE rebuilt by alstom/southern tier shops in Hornell NY. The unit had its turbos pulled and re rated at 2000 hp along with getting an AC unit. She is a wonder and is often found working local threw out the system

#523-Ex EL/GLNE rebuilt by alstom/southern tier shops in Hornell NY. The unit is identical to 516 and is also found wondering the system in local service.

All three GLNE units are classed as GP35Ms meaning Modified GP35

The Southern Tier Units

#2006 Ex BN rebuilt by alstom/southern tier shops in Hornell NY. The unit was rebuilt similar to the GLNE units and is on permanent lease to GLNE. it along with sister #2026 dont wonder to far away from the southern tier corridor between Buffalo NY and Croxton NJ. Both are classed as GP-38-2s

#3003 is an ex BN/SLSF (frisco) unit with roof mounted air tanks it too was rebuilt by rebuilt by alstom/southern tier shops in Hornell NY. it kept its trubo and was re-classed a GP39-2 after rebuilding. She kept her air tanks and is often found on unit salt trains originating off the Southern Tier Corridor.

The rat pack

With local traffic on the rise GLNE found its self lacking enough units to rebuild or refurbish for local service. With many other roads selling older GP35s GLNE picked up several for rebuild cores. Many of the units were quick cycled threw the shops and pressed into service before being rebuilt

#508-EX BN. A quick patch job and a tune up was all 508 needed and she was out on the road another wonder she spends most of her time on the west end working locals.

#506 and 513-Ex SP GP35Es. These two were picked up from SP having been rebuilt once into GP35Es. once the extra SP lights were pulled off the pair were patched and sent out. They are often found working together on unit stone trains on the D&H northern division in NY.

(all painted and detailed by John Bezuyen of Southern Tier Modelworks)

#252 ex BN riding on alco trucks. This gem has undergone a full rebuild in the Tyrrell shops in PA. Being power short the unit was released from the shops in faded BN paint and most of the new parts only in primer. The ugly duckling is well liked by the crews because of the GE traction motors. She is often found working the locals out of Suffern NY. When painted she will be renumbered into the 500 series

(252 Was painted and detailed by Jeff Tyrrell)
(all decals are custom from High Ball Graphics)

i would love to come up and see your layout at some point.

Ha ha, you haven't got 'em all!

No, this isn't the same picture twice. It's the Athearn and Kato models photographed identically, to allow the differences to be spotted.

I would agree, I think you have an addiction. Great looking weathering and details though. They look really good.

Now maybe you and Jorome (addicted to switchers) should get together and work out your problems. LOL ;)

You guys are making me wish I had the money to get an ALCo RS-2/RS-3 addiction under way :(
you just got start 1 turns into 2 then 3 then 4 then before you know it your a true ALCo-holic

Well you have a few to catch up to me. I've just counted 189 on the shelves around me. Good thing we both like different types or we'd be knocking heads!!! LOL

it is a good thing only have a hand full of switchers running around

Now I know why I can't find any GP35's...
My one NS unit is sure lonely. Maybe you could send down a couple as leasers.
BTW, not that it matters in the model world, but those AAR trucks ride rougher than hob. They may pull better, but they sure don't ride better. I've only ridden in two EMDs that rode rougher, an NS GP60 with Blomberg M's, and a GP7 with switcher trucks. My kidneys are twitching in sympathy.

You guys are in a class by themselves. My current loco count is drumroll................ 14

OMG, I will catch up to Jorome in about 10 years?

at last count i was near 50 in locomotives painted or lettered for my home road Great Lakes and New England, not counting my D&H roster.

thank god i'm in N scale all my sd40-2 in NS black are easy to hide
from the wife!!! the c44-9w's are a differnt story 10 sd40's and 20 c44's

And here I've been thinking they were breeding at night when I turned off the lights in the train room!!!!
