Natives just assume the land they lived on for centuries is their's or else they don't believe or even understand the concept of land ownership.
Maybe they got it right.
Native peoples often view land as a sacred gift rather than something to be owned in the conventional sense. Many indigenous cultures believe that the land is entrusted to them by a higher power, such as the Great Spirit, and that they are stewards of the Earth rather than its owners. This perspective emphasizes respect, care, and harmony with nature, seeing the land as a living entity that sustains all life.

For example, the Lakota warrior Sitting Bull expressed a deep connection to the land, describing it as enduring and invaluable, beyond monetary worth. Similarly, Crowfoot, a chief of the Blackfeet, stated that the land was given by the Great Spirit and could not be sold because it did not belong to humans. These views contrast sharply with Western concepts of land ownership, which often prioritize individual property rights.

Greed backed up by black powder, lead, and steel changed all that and here we are.

Which is one of the reasons Putin thinks he has a right to attack Ukraine! Also the justification Hitler used to invade the Sudatinland...because there were ethnic Germans there. Back when we bought Alaska, the main attractions were fish, furs, and eventually gold. No doubt Putin would like the oil that is there! I think, however, he would get a bit more argument than Ukraine is able to give him.

The Firestone Tire and Rubber Company
began producing inflatable "balloon" tires. These tires featured an inner tube that could be inflated with air, providing a smoother ride and better handling compared to earlier solid or simple pneumatic tires. This innovation marked a significant advancement in tire technology and contributed to Firestone's prominence in the automotive industry.
