Just stopping by! I've been away from model railroading for about 35 years and am trying to get back in. Kinda torn between HO and N, HO for its bigger size and handle ability and N to get more RR in my area.
Anyways .. hi! :D

N has come a long way in the past decade or so, but your eyes and hands have not...they have lost ground. The general, but by no means rigid, consensus in the hobby for males past, say, 60, is that they find they don't see the details and can't appreciate what is there with the smaller scales, and they're harder to manipulate, especially with 'tired' hands that have done a lot of tool holding, etc. So, I read a lot of posts where guys announce they feel they have to move up to HO in order to enjoy all the hobby has to offer, and some skip HO and go directly to S scale or even to O.

Something to think about.

Hi and welcome. N seems ok if ya just like to see trains from a distance. HO if ya like switching and detailing the rolling stock.

It also depends on the space you have. You get four times the layout in n scale.

I have a moderate amount of room. But my interests run towards making models and scenery.

I'll probably make a couple of 4x8's in my apartment for now and see how that all goes.
