Hey Everyone! My name is Patrick. I have been into model railroading on and off since I was a kid. When I was young I inherited my father's first Lionel trainset and enjoyed it for many years under the pool table in our garage. I always like HO though because the models were more detailed and more my size. So when I was about 8 years old my father took me to Allied Model Trains in Culver City, CA where he bought me my first HO trainset, Bachman's "The Cavalier". A year or two later we returned there again and I bought my first DCC locomotive with sound, a Proto 2000 NYC E8A. It took until my adulthood to finally get back into the hobby and have enough money to build a layout. I am currently on my second attempt, the first was a 7x9 with a cutout in the middle for me (duck under) and it ended up getting abandoned due to it being too large and not being in the best place. Now I am building a 4x8 and have almost finished my track work and I am about to wire it up for the first time!

I am so excited to be here and meet all of you, I hope that in the coming years I will make many new friends on this platform and have lots of fun times to share with the rest of you.

So are you sticking with New York Central because that is your new loco, or going with the Norfolk because of the Cavalier, or modeling someplace where the two met, or what?

I have been trying really hard to limit myself to the Santa Fe Railway. Will probably model eastern Colorado in some way shape or form.
