hey all, i'm new to this forum and well model railroading also. i've always wanted to do on but never really had the room to do it. i now bought a house so i have an extra bedroom so i now have the room. i've love trains from a very early age.

i'm going to model modern day trains and will mainly stick to CSX and NS locomotives because that's what i see in the city i live in. i'm in the planning/buying/researching stage at the moment, and i'm planning on doing a 4x8 layout. it's not really based on a real railroad but it will be and industrial on one side and mountain/country side with a small mountain town on the other side. i will be doing N scale trains also

as far as locomotives i've have ordered an atlas MP15DC CSX for my yard, and i've also reserved a Dash 8-40CW and an EMD SD60 both in CSX for my main lines. a friend of mine is giving me a atlas SO80MAC Northfolk Southern.

Hello SE,
As said above, 'Welcome to the forum'! There are many others in N Scale on here too so you'll have plenty to talk with.

One thing I might suggest, although I haven't seen your track plan, is to consider having your layout in at least an 'L' shape to give yourself more variation in running and easier separation of different areas plus the ability to have a fair change in elevation of your rail line/s for added interest.

Enjoy the forum.
