I'm 64, self employed hoping to retire prior to my demise...lol. RHVAC service and install. Always liked the hobby, never really got into it till about a year ago. I'm currently building my layout, first started with the Atlas layout book from 1971, minimum size twice around plan. expanded then decided to start over. still trying to wrap my head around the electric... commercial refrigeration and heat and AC controls seem easy, but this DC voltage and shorts and turnouts and crossovers, etc....my head has been spinning for a while. I know it may seem foolish, but I found a crap load of Tru Scale stuff and I'm building from that to learn. I set up a test crossover and running the train over to see where I lose voltage and where I see a short so I know where to turn power off to make it through the crossover without a short and without losing power. There is so much to this hobby!

Welcome!
Stop in at the ANPL Cafe where politics and religion are the only subjects verboten.
And verboten is the sum total of what I remember of my high school German.

Welcome to the forum tc.
At first it seems a bit overwhelming but just keep learning and you'll get the hang of it.

Welcome aboard!

I watched a lot of Steven Lavimoniere on utube, so I must be an expert at HVAC and plumbing. No? Oh well... haha
