I purchased items in an auction and there were what I believe to be HO models. I know very little about these. I have attached pics and have done the best I could with them. Info and opinions. Someone told me they were junk but I believe one man's junk is another's treasure. Honesty is appreciated. Thanks, boogieboy

I think it is S scale. Look up “American Flyer” and whatever numbers are on the pieces.

Sorry about that. Just go to

Search for 282

There are some good pictures there.
I did that and it really really helped. What I have are S gauges except for the 5318 which is HO. The one shell I have is the 565. I have the tenders with the loco's. I'm more the O and O27 but might have to get into S and get these babies running--if I can. I think they are cool. Thanks again for your help. On another forum, I asked for help and one person said they were junk. Well, one man's junk is another's treasure.

I believe what I have are American Flyer: 307 Reading Atlantic, 21160 Reading Atlantic, 282 Pacific, 565 Pre-War, and 530 Reading caboose that is in really good shape. Also, a 5310 HO Hudson. Now the work begins. I would like to test. A/C or D/C? No track. Have A/C Lionel transformer as well as a transformer that is A/C and D/C. Power to wheels?
