Hi everyone,
My name is Dave and nearing my 66th birthday. I have been a model railroader for as long as I can remember. When I was little my Dad had an HO layout which intrigued my 5 year old self. My Dad gave up his layout as we moved from Chicago to the suburbs and life took over. I was hooked on trains from that point on. Built my 1st layout in my 20's and have built 5 or 6 (they all seem to blur together) over the years as space and time have permitted. Both HO and N. I've just started my latest layout. It is HO. I recently tried N again but discovered my old eyes couldn't handle it. This layout will be a freelance effort generally set in northern Maine. Except there will be some Midwestern flavor also. Including homages to my Mom (part of the Maumee river in honor of her birthplace in Grand Rapids, Ohio) and Dad (rolling stock from the Wabash as my Dad was born in Indiana). There will also be at least one loco and some rolling stock with the Chicago & Northwestern road name. We would take the train into Chicago after our move and that was always great fun.
I guess that's enough for now. I'm looking forward to picking everyone's brains and enjoying your layouts.
