Hi All,
I am new to the hobby again. Why again? When I was younger I had a massive train set and my father did as well. I have been stalking some ebay listings on lots and other sales when I came across one on craigslist. 2 Locomotives, and 32 cars, and just enough track to make a 2x3 oval. I quickly assembled it on some particle board on the living room floor. Much to my dogs chagrin. Some need minor repair and one of the locomotives needs some help. Probably just some motor cleaning. After staring intently at the revolving little scene, I jumped on my laptop and found you all here. I scored a couple old magazines from the late 70's as well. Many plans that can be divided in half to accommodate my re-found joy. I am scouring the net for the best places to buy, but there is nothing here in my city. I look forward to conversing as the days chug along.

Hi, Guy! Welcome to the forums. This is the best site on the web for all of your one stop model railroading needs. A lot of friendly people here with a lot of knowledge that can help with just about anything.

I'm "new" to the hobby again myself after a little over 20 years away. A lot has changed in this time and the people here have been great to learn from. I'm modeling in N scale, what about you. What railroad, location and era are you interested in?

I am currently building an N scale layout. I bought the Lot in my OP for $100, then I found on CL an HO set, and an O set for a total of 75, so I got them. I set up the O-scale on the floor and it started out a bit sluggish but after a few minutes it warmed up and start puffing smoke, and bookin' around the rails. My dogs got scared and hid on the couch. Then I set up the HO and it took a bit of cleaning wheels and track, some oil on the worm gear but it eventually started chugging along. I've plunked quite a bit down so far on the N track, and fixed the extra loco. Loads of fun!
