Wow, just an amazing layout. Watched all of your videos as well, seeing your growth for the last few years (almost 2 years on UTube). I am very new to model trains, but from a fellow Canadian as well and even riden that CP railroad once, I just think yours is quite amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Chet, Yannis and Tony

Tony, yes 2 years on YouTube but tore down the first layout after 8 months because I had many problems and started a new one in October 2015, so just over a year into this layout. had the layout designed and with lots of help, this is where I'm at now.

For about a year, I wanted to get a Canadian Pacific DCC Trackmobile, but none to be found, until now. I was suggested to get one with another road name and change it to CP.
Well it's done and many thanks go to Ralph Renzetti. Not only did he do all the work of changing the road name, but he also did the weathering on it..... A piece of ART.
Thanks Ralph

Thanks everyone, When I first saw it, I NEEDED it.

Hey Willie, it's going on my layout....lol, J/K, still don't know in which industry yet, but I'm thinking I will find it useful at my boxcar exchange (the one I scratch build a year ago)

Hey everyone,

I was due for an update, so here we go.

I started work on finishing my Hawkesbury yard but stop so I could work on an old engine house which will house passenger cars and a steam locomotive, which will be behind the Hawkesbury train station.

Here’s the story about the old engine house which of course is fictional.
In the 1930’s or so, this building was used as an engine house for CP steam locomotives and was abandoned with time. The city of Hawkesbury bought the building for $1 and fixed it up to house four vintage passenger cars and a steam locomotive.

During the week, the FP-9A and B will be pulling 1970 passenger cars on a tour and will be replace by the Royal Hudson pulling vintage passenger cars on Sundays (mainly during operating sessions).

As for the construction of this building, everything is scratch build. Walls are made of foam core board with embossed paper brick to give its 3D look, the roof is made of styrene for one and shingles for the big roof (to come) and the inside is balsa wood planks for what we can see inside and balsa for reinforcement.

I’ve been working on the building for now 3 weeks and still have about 2 more weeks of work, that’s why I don’t have much to show for the last month.

Great work there Lloyd! The engine house looks very impressive and i am sure it will look even greater when finished! Thanks for posting and looking forward to the next update.

Wow Lloyd. You really nailed that roof (pun intended) on the annex. Very nice. Better than the real thing in my avatar!

Willie

Looking good Lloyd. I ended up getting a pile of that embossed brick after one of your other builds. Very nice product.

Thanks Yannis, love this part of the hobby.

Thanks Willie, a bit to rusted to my liking, but for a 1930's roof, I guess it will do...lol

Thanks Rick, yes it's a good product and what I like is that powdered weathering sticks very well to it.

Awesome building. I love your attention to detail, even on parts of your layout that will never be seen such as the benchwork. Your workmanship is exceptional.
