I cant get the pictures to load but Cardinal river models is doing a prototypical berkshire in different eras its a bit steep at 700 usd but for the rivet counter people this is a mans dream

No I have not! But I don't have 700 USD to spend on one model anyway...
 


The thread title brought back a memory. In 1992, before computers took off in my line of work. We had weekly meetings with a group of engineers and a supervisor. The supervisor would pick up a memo from his desk, wave it in the air and proclaim, "Have you seen this?" Of course we tried to get a look, but he kept waving it!

You are most certainly welcome. I got a little excited as its one of my favorite engines and all the special stuff they are putting with it lol
 
Nice but at $700 they can keep it. I bought the most recent Bachmann hudson because my dad was NYC steam engineer for less then $300. Well detailed and it runs and sounds great.
I can imagine the Berkshire will be amazing and a collectors item but not for me. Bachmann and several other mfgs will be making a Berkshire this coming year.

Agreed! The scaleTrains recently announced Berkshire is going to run $550.00 W/Sound. The Cardinal River model is going to blow it away on detail, so I would say a $700.00 price tag is not that far out of line!

The $700.00 is MSRP, so at dealers they possibly will be a little less.
 


Nice loco, for the right operator it could be the right addition to their fleet. Not a purchasing decision to be undertaken lightly. But I prefer to nickel-and-dime myself to bankruptcy. Due to having custom painted freelance power, remotoring and converting old blue box locos to DCC. 😉
