Growing up around railroads

During summer vacations as a kid in the late 80s and early 90s me and my bro would often stay at our aunt and uncle's while our parents were at work. Usually we'd hang out on the back porch and watch trains. It had a nice view of Conrail's tracks. Occasionally an Amtrak train, most likely The Pennsylvanian headed to the station downtown passed through but for the most part it was freight trains. Surprisingly cabooses could sometimes still be seen on the ends of freights.
