Hello all. I've been reading the forum for a few months now. Very nice and experienced group here. I have been working on an HO switching layout since March. The basic layout is a shameless copy of Alan Curtis' switching layout. The bench work, track laying and DCC wiring are complete. I have basic cereal box structures built and on the layout and I'm getting ready to put down some ground cover. I've learned a lot here and I'm looking forward to participating on the forum.

John, Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you with us. If you're copying Alan's layout, you will enjoy it. He does some excellent work. I'm a fan of a switching layout myself.

Welcome, and thanks for signing in. I hope you can get some photos up of your progress!! You do not have to wait until it is all done.

I can hardly believe how much technique I have picked up from the forum by viewing the earlier stages of a layout.

Hey John, welcome to the forum, glad to have you onboard!

You won't find a nicer group and the depth of knowledge is unbelievable.

I look forward to hearing more from you.

Hello John, Glad to have you as a new member of the forum, we all started at the same point. This great hobby offers an endless opportunity for learning and experience as you already seem to be getting familiar with. No need to feel the need to apologize for laying out your switching layout like Allan did, sometimes due to space, it's hard to make changes that actually improve things and often simplicity is best. I'm sure you have a very enjoyable switching layout. In fact, in writing to you I just realized I might try and incorporate a run-a-round in my layout to aid in switching also! So you see, you've given me reason to look at things a bit differently too.

Again glad to have you with us and by all means stop in at the ANPL/ Jeffrey Running bears' Dinner near the bottom of the main listings to enjoy a cup or two of coffee on me, tell Flo or Francine I said I'd pick up the tab! There is lots of good info passed around there too.

See you around John.

G'day John...Great to see you join in...You won't be disappointed...There is no Forum that even comes close to this one . it is THE FORUM...Cheers Rod
