Greetings from Minneapolis

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

I had my first HO set in the late 1970s. I had just a basic loop and built some simply scenery. I then put the hobby aside. I was talking with my wife a few weeks and I mentioned that I would like to get back into model railroading as a retirement (which is still a decade or more away) project. She said: why wait? Indeed, why wait. So here I am with another basic loop and my first layout in 40-plus years.

Cheers,
Michael

Michael: Welcome and remember to get your wife a neat little loco she can run.

Welcome from the south Metro, glad you could join us.

If you didn't know already, there is going to be a train show and sale this Saturday at the state fairgrounds. I'd normally be there, but I'll be out of town for this one.

Thanks. I didn't know that. I'll try and make it over there this weekend.

Welcome to the Forums and back to the hobby AND each time your wife complains about how much money you have spent on it - remind her it was really her idea :) Oh, and a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates (a big box) probably wouldn't hurt either :)

One last thing, if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask - that is what most of us are here for - to answer questions and help people out where and when we can :)
