ModelRailroadForums.com is a free
Model Railroad Discussion Forum and
photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.
I've decided to take a break from the forums for awhile, for about the past year I've been here it's been fun, I've learned a lot of information, and met a lot of kind people. The only reason for leaving is because I'd like to focus on the learning experience of experimenting instead of asking forum members(even though that what's your here for) for help. It's been a good run and I'd like to thank all the members and moderators for the help for the past year.
This is not forever just for now.
Sincerely,
TRAINNUT
I get it, I took a break a while back too.
Report in every now and then, we’ll keep a track open!
Good luck. It’s good to take a break sometimes I take one from here but it’s because life gets in the way mostly during the summer months.
Like others say, it is good to take a break. Put into practice what you have learned here.
Visit the Diner now and again. Have a coffee and a chat. Tell us how you are progressing.
Best wishes for you!
I understand completely needing a break. In 2021 I took a 2 year hobby forum break myself.
I'm with the others, stop in once in a while and come back when your ready!
This is perfectly normal and natural. I do the same, months without stepping into the train room. I have other interests, including one I'm returning to after several decades away...amateur astronomy. I think it keeps things interesting and fresh to step sideways, or back, and to take another look at things, as they do in photography...yet another hobby of mine.
I am like you...I need to try something I've imagined doing, or devised out of curiosity or necessity. I do this a lot in model railroading, and most of them work, although not right away. It's fun, and it puts your own signature on something.
Good luck!
As much as we all love our hobby, we all need to take a break from it time to time. Enjoy your break, maybe look into some alternative hobbies. The change will do you good.
I'm on an "enforced" break right now due to moving and it will be on into February or March until I start getting things going again. Got a lot of other stuff to do until then. My alternate model building genre is 1:32 Pacific Theater WWII aircraft. I think I've finished 3 or 4 kits in the last 4 or 5 years. It does provide a break for me.
Good luck and we look forward to hearing from you again.
This is not forever just for now.
Take all the time you need. You are always welcome to stop by the coffee shop and talk about anything.
We leave, most times we come back. It's in our blood. Be safe. Stay out of the strip clubs.
