My cousin with no computer has a large quantity of high quality German HO trains and accessories that he bought in Germany in the mid to late 1950s when he was stationed there in the Army. I don't remember the brand but would recognize it if I heard it. He would like to sell but has no idea where/how to determine the value. He has two wooden chests of this stuff in original boxes. Where might he find out what it's worth? Thank you in advance.

There are many possible brands including Märklin, Brawa, Trix, Fleishmann, Roco, and Lima. As has been said, without knowing the exact manufactuerer, model number, and condition, it's impossible to even guess about value. One of the things you can do when you get this information is go to e-bay and search for the items to see what they've sold for there.

Shoot me some pics or post them here if you can. I model German Railways using Marklin trains made from the 50's thru the 70's. I might be able to help you figure out what you have. Mike
