Yes they are this was probably in the 70's or early 80's Not sure was at Hesston Steam Museum close to LaPorte IND
Have a bunch of picts from there if I could find them A friend of mine Mark and myself did work on some of the steam engines and of course the scale diesel engines there at the time
Mark was more interested in scale diesel engines built a few before he passed way to young
If of any interest

Was actually taken back for a little bit (thinking counting rivets), that maybe the museum in Baltimore has pushed its Q4 out into daylight for everyone to feast their eyes on it. But on closer examination notised the obvious-missing hinges on the smoke box door. Real railrad boss would have a fit if he saw that coming out if the factory😉

Here's one from last Saturday. Was turning around at the Viento Park exit on I-84 and saw a train come by with an ex-SP still in SP paint go by. Didn't actually turn around and kept going east to Hood River, OR. I thought I'd arrive with minutes to spare but the signal behind the train (in the photo) for eastbounds was red. Eventually this guy came by but the light stayed red.

Another train came and then the light was green, the train with the SP was on the move. I looked west and there were two teenage girls playing on the centerbeam car parked in the interchange track. Then one of them ran around the end of the car and across the main without a glance or care in the world. I couldn't take it anymore and walked down to talk with them. They saw me coming and went back up to the street. I followed them and asked them to not be on or around the tracks and equipment. It really stresses the crew members out, there are lots of people that do strange things around trains and they can't tell you aren't crazy and just trying to take a few photos. They apologized and walked off and my train was then coming. I didn't get the shot I planned but this is what I came up with.

I don't know if they understood what I was trying to say. At work, I watch the Virtual Railfan camera in Chehalis, WA. One day a guy stood in front of the train until the absolute last second. In the video, the train went into emergency and it looks like the handrail actually hit his hand as he jumped out of the way. The crew was very distraught because they thought they hit him. The train blocked 3 of the 4 crossings for a couple hours until another crew arrived. Another time Amtrak 11 was escorted some distance through town by a guy walking down the gauge having a very animated conversation with somebody. Fortunately for him, another train waiting for Amtrak to pass had warned them he was there else he would have gotten a 79mph coupler in his caboose. Last Saturday, a group of people taking photos saw a train coming and all ran over and sat down on the track in front of the train for a photo. The train went into emergency and they ran off laughing. I think it is just better if the crew doesn't even see you. In the first photo, I was standing in a parking lot and the second was on a road/walkway with a railing between the tracks and me.
