I am very new to the model railroad hobby. So I thought, "what the heck, I'll give it a try". My wife got me the woodland scenics mountain valley scenery kit. My layout is in N scale so I had to scale down everything by about half. Most of the buildings are from kits and a few I made myself from balsa wood. It's on a 3 x 6 area and he rack didn't quite make it to the edge where the mountain is so after I was done on the instruction mountain with the silhouette I decided to continue the mountain to make it look "finished". In doing it in N scale the kit has a lot more material than you will need unless you make the layout much bigger than I did. A 3x 6 layout is all I have room for. I have more to do but here is what is looks like so far.

Looks great! Any switching opportunities on the layout or just a loop?
It's just a loop for now. I know it may sound silly but I wasn't sure on my landscaping ability and wanted to get that down before I add any switching to it.

That makes sense to me!
If this is indeed your first attempt, you did a great job!
