Hello. I am trying to do a factory re-set on my Walthers UP E8 A that has a QSI decoder. I'm using JMRI but my
CV list on this loco does not have an 08 CV listed. I'm using a Digitrax throttle and their manual
says CV 08 is the factory reset for all FX3 decoders. What can I do if anything to reset the decoder?
Thanks.
JRP

As stated in another thread you started, you DO NOT have a Digitrax decoder, no matter how many settings you change. Find the settings for the decoder you have, and follow those settings, NOT for another manufacturer. You are trying to make Honda parts fit in your Chevrolet.

I hear you, but remember I downloaded the QSI decoder stats using JMRI. I'm only using Digitrax as the means of throttle power to a loco
that has QSI inside.

It doesn't matter what you are using to reset it, you have to use the settings of the decoder to reset it. Using any other settings or methods will not work, at best, and may brick your decoder, at worst.

you can use the single CV menus to get to CV8.

Keep in mind. "Some" decoders only return you to the last saved file condition of the decoder using CV8=8.
If you want to have a factory reset condition, you should save original settings of the decoder to a factor condition file before programming and setting any CV.
