Hi Gary,
Thanks for the comment. You are correct the houses are of a ceramic type material. They are manufactured by Lemax and Department 55. I am surprised that you say they all come with snow on them as I did purchase most of them in the USA. I first spotted them in a shop in Las Vegas. When we were getting at least 2dollars 20 to the pound and postal rates were reasonable I had them shipped over.
Roy,
It seems like the ceramic Christmas village manufacturers over here have a thing about Britian's architecture. Looks like you really took advantage of the opportunities.
Hi Carl,
The london Transport Routemaster buses and coaches are Corgi.
The London Transport RT buses are Solido (French).
The rest of the vehicles are a mixture of Corgi, Oxford and Cararama.
They vary between 1/43 and 1/50 scale but when seen together the casual eye does not notice the difference.
The ceramic buildings are highly detailed but probably require some weathering eventually.
Hello.
London Underground which this line represents uses a four rail DC system a conductor rail between the running rails is energised at
-210 volts and a rail outside of the running rails is at + 420 volts
giving a potential 630 volts.
I've never been to Europe. Are the towns there as dense as suggested in your railroad? I know in the US people will cram lots of stuff into a model railroad just because of the lack of space, so generally a MR is more congested than real life. I didn't know if I could apply the same principle to what I am seeing in your pictures or not.
I was also curious about the statement "runs through 5 sheds". Exactly what is a shed in this context? A separate building housing the layout? Or do you mean a model train shed as in a covering for a station?

Hi There,
Some of the cities in the UK are now worse than my railway suggests. Animals have restrictions on space and numbers. Travel in or out of Paddington London in the rush hours and that is something else. We have not reached the stage of India yet, hanging on the outside but that is only because it is not allowed.
To best describe running through 5 sheds I have included link of video posted last year.
