I'm going to throw something out here: Have you considered Soundtraxx? Their TSU-PNP8 board decoder https://soundtraxx.com/products/tsunami2-digital-sound-decoders/tsu-pnp8/ can be ordered with a number of different sound profiles installed, they are made here in the USA, they have excellent customer service, they have a YouTube channel, and their sound decoders come with a built in equalizer sound you can tailor the sound profile exactly how you want it. Plus the price is quite reasonable. Before you spring for an ESU decoder, check them out.
I used one for my EMD TR5A project, and it sounds great and performs flawlessly!
Did a bit of Googling Tsunami and Sountraxx are one in the same. Their comparable board to the Loksound would run me the exact same price, and they do have the right sound file for my loco. So now it's a matter of choosing the differences feature wise. I believe the Loksound puts out a bit more sound wattage.
