Hi All,
Just wondering if someone has recently installed a new release LOKSOUND Decoder (V4.0 or Aux 6) into an ATLAS Master Silver Series HO - Dash8-39B - 8 pin NMRA Locomotive. What size/shape of speaker did you use and what kind of work went into installing the decoder?
Thanks to all who reply!!

Will,

I recently installed a Aux 6 in an MTH SD70ACe. I installed two Hi Bass Railmaster Hobbies 1.1" (28mm) speakers. Very little work went into it as the decoder has a 8 pin plug. It's just a matter of soldering the speaker wiresto the speaker and fishing it through the baffles. I secured it to the light board with some Kapton tape and put the shell back on.

The default sound will blow you out of the room...super loud. I had to lower it to about 1/3 of what the default was. Sound is very very nice. Motor control is simply incredible...at speed step 1 (I use 28 steps) it just creeps with absolutely no hesitation even up a grade. Consists easily. As with an decoder, make sure you read the manual thoroughly before, during, and after the install. ESU is alittle different than other manufacturers as you have to press 8 to start it up whereas 8 is Mute for most.

Hope this helps,

Brad
